mzd04q3 cover art. click to see large version Posted by Hello

mzd04q3 !

well, it's finally here folks...mzd04Q3 was finished in the wee hours last night. it was done live in one take (after several false starts, hence the wee hours). the only thing left to be done is some final mastering and then the packaging. for those of you on the mailing list i should be mailing these out early next week so hopefully you will get them by the end of next week. mzd04q3 is a retrospective of my favorite tunes from this past summer. i discovered a great french band named m83 in july and this compilation features 2 of their tracks. also topping the list is nathan fake's the sky was pink out on border community. all the mixes from the 12" are outstanding, so much so I decided to include 3 out of the 4. electro techy goodness from my home to yours!

Tracklist:

1)m83 - birds [mute]
2)nathan fake - the sky was pink (holden tool) [border community]
3)nathan fake - the sky was pink (holden remix) [border community]

5)vector lovers - electrobotik disco (km's segue edit)* [soma quality recordings]
6)phonique - red dress (tiefschwarz remix) [dessous recordings]
7)rex the dog - look into mid air (km's big air extension)* [kompakt]
8)britters - breathe on me (holden dub) [white]
9)britters - breathe on me (holden remix) [white]
10)m83 - run into flowers (jackson remix) [mute]

kevin mut's debut

i made my dj'ing debut this past saturday (oct. 9th, 2004) on blue plasma radio hosted by stefan anion and jordan daniel down at dallas' finest record store BPM records. I was the guest dj on Saturday night's show from 11 to midnight. Jordan and Stefan each played for about an hour before hand and they both played some great sets consisting of proggy breaks and techy goodness. i played on all ableton live set and it pretty much went off with out a hitch. there were a few minor glitches and i know some of my cues were off just slightly but other than that it was great. the set is up for download now at blue plasma recordings' website. (http://www.blueplasmarecordings.com/html/audio/index.html) so check it out if you' d like. i had so much fun and cant wait to do it again. thanks so much to jordan and stefan for having me down and thanks to kristin for being there. and guys i promise mzd04q3 will be out soon.

zabbers comes to big D

well sorry for the lack of updates lately, its been busy the last 2 weeks to say the least. first off i will mention that i happened to see the best dj set ever (like all time) performed by james zabiela at club one in dallas on oct 2nd. it was so unreal. nathan and i saw him last summer @ space when we were in ibiza. nick was there too but i think he was too drunk to know who he was hearing. he blew me away then, but even that doesn't compare to what he dropped at club one. the new weekend world song and the rex the dog remix of client were the hightlights for me personally. he even had kristin dancing ;) as if that treat wasn't enough, he did an in-store appearance on the following monday at a local reord shop. luckily (and dorkily) i brought along my dv camcorder and filmed the whole thing. it was an intimate little event with only about 15 people there and jz with 2 cdj-1000s and his trusty efx-500. i am planning on making a little dvd of this when i get some free time in the next few weeks. well thanks for a great weekend jz :)
